Sizing Instructions

  • Sit on the floor without a cushion/prop or under cushion
  • Fold one foot in as close to the pelvic floor as possible
  • Draw the thighs back and wide by placing one hand under the sit bones of the side you are drawing back and wide and one hand inside the inner thigh of that same leg, draw the flesh of the thigh bone inward towards the floor then back toward your back body
  • Place that leg down, then do the same to the other side
  • Sit up tall then place the other foot right in front of the other foot, it's important that you DO NOT STACK the feet. To get a better feel for how tight or open the hips/back/hamstrings are it's important the feet not be stacked.
  • Then have someone measure from the floor to the middle of your knee (you'll find a soft spot at the center of the knee) on both sides.
  • Make a note which foot is place closest to the pelvic floor and give me both measurements.
  • Make a note if the hips are level if not which one is higher than the other
  • Have someone look at your spine ideally it should be in a "neutral" relaxed position for the meditation posture, if not please note if the sacrum is rolling back. Please, view the sizing poster for comparison images.
  • As well note whether or not the hamstring muscles are tight, open or in-between.
  • I will make a guestimate from your notes what size cushion would best suit you.
  • From there we will work together to find the perfect fit.
